Bio: Javier Jara Caceres is a lawyer with critical experience in both private and public sector. He has performed as an associate lawyer of a Chilean law firm providing legal advice to natural resource, real estate and industrial companies in a wide range of matters including corporate, mining, water and environmental ones. He also performed for more than five years as a legislative advisor of a Chilean Senator who was the President of the Mining, Energy and Natural Resources committee of the Chilean Senate (Higher Parliament’s chamber), mainly focused on those kind of bills. He is currently the Head of the Department of the Mining Property of the Geological and Mining National Survey of Chile, where he is in charge of providing assistance in the Mining and Geothermal Concessions granting-process, as well as he is in charge of maintaining the mining and geothermal concessions cadastre, archives and role. To do so, he counts with more than a 100 professional and technicians and a budget of US$6 millions.
